j2e Integrates Widgit Symbols
Cross Platform online Symbol Support
Just2easy (j2e) is a company formed by a team of educational software designers. Winners of two BETT awards, this same team have been creating educational software since 1994. They are responsible for some of the most popular software used in UK schools today.
j2e have recently implemented Widgit Symbols into their word processor and online services. When activated the Widgit Symbols can be set to appear as you type or during the spell check function to help with the "which witch is which" problem. They can also be combined with word lists.
The j2e facilities incorporating the Widgit Symbols are available across both PC and Mac operating systems, meaning that for the first time, Widgit Symbol support is available for Mac users. Along with the cross platform access is the unique way that each document created with j2e is saved.
Each of the created pages has its own URL, which in practice means that people can gain access to the pages through any web browser at any location. As a result educational documentation can be shared and viewed by teachers, students, family and friends, without the need for symbol support software to be installed on each machine.
Danny Young, Managing Director of Just2easy commented, "This exciting new product combines the vast experience of j2e and Widgit to help to deliver real educational benefits to pupils and teachers. Already the response from educators across the country has been very positive and we are delighted to be working with Widgit on this project."
